OLIVER GROUP (DARE & ADJUST YOUR SET)

Apprentice onto Junior Video Editor

Before joining the games industry I originally worked with Live Action Post Production and Project Management at the OLIVER Group splitting my year long Apprenticeship between two of their subsidiaries, DARE and ADJUST YOUR SET. Firstly I worked at DARE, a creative digital agency that specialises in Website and App Development where I focused on Project Management  and then onto Adjust Your Set, a video content agency, where I became a key member of the Post Production Team and upon finishing my Apprenticeship Contract was offered a full time position as Junior Video Editor. My primary responsibilities whilst working within the Oliver Group included:

 

  • Assessing Development Timelines and Resource Management for an overhaul of EE’s Website.

  • Content Management for Nike Golf and BMW Motorrad Websites.

  • Post production and Editing of Content for Key Clients including Nandos, AXA, and Lloyds.

  • Motion Graphics Design and Updates for Key Clients including Unilever and the Guardian.

  • Versioning and Localising finalised content for Key Clients including Facebook and Barclaycard.

  • Archiving and File Management of all completed projects, ensuring accessibility for future use.

  • IT Support and Upkeep of all software and equipment in the Post Production Department.

  • Briefing and Managing work loads of Freelance Editors and Motion Graphics Artists.

DOVETAIL GAMES

Video Editor

I previously worked for developer/publisher Dovetail Games within the Creative Services team as a Video Editor. I was responsible for the pre-production, production and post production of the content I created which primarily consisted of Seasonal Sale Videos and Trailers, working across the DTG’s Annual Train and Fishing Simulation titles. my main responsibilities included:

 

  • Solo and Multiplayer Game Capture within Development builds of DTG’s Titles.

  • Creating Cinematic shots of new equipment and models utilising Unreal Engine’s sequencer.

  • Animating Key Art to enhance our videos and create synergy between static and video content.

  • Post Production & Editing of our Seasonal Sale Videos and Game Trailers.

  • Versioning our trailers to meet the specifications of platform storefronts including Xbox, Playstation and Steam.

  • Setting up and running of live action shoots for Development Diaries and Interviews.

  • Running Pre-Checks/Set Up on equipment and preparing Motion Graphics for Live Streams.

NATURALMOTION

Capture Artist & Video Editor onto Senior Capture Artist & Video Editor

 

In my role at Naturalmotion I’m working on the upcoming arena shooter STAR WARS: HUNTERS, working with the Dev, Marketing and Community teams to create Trailers/Promotional Materials, Internal Reels, and In-Game Static and Cinematic Assets. The primary duties of my role include:

  • Creating engaging Gameplay and Cinematic Trailers revealing New Maps and Game Modes, as well exciting Narrative Driven Character Trailers introducing new characters into Star Wars Canon.

  • Creating Static and Video Assets for in-game use including Game Mode Select Images, MOTD’s and Cinematics integrated into Star Wars Hunters opening gameplay tutorial.

  • Creating Internal Highlight Reels of Development milestones to showcase the title and development progress to executive stakeholders within the leadership of parent companies ZYNGA and Take Two Interactive, as well as our licence partner Lucasfilm Ltd.

  • Work with our User Acquisition capture team to share my knowledge and enhance UA capture artists' understanding of UE Sequencer and Cinematic Tools.

  • Owning our video production pipeline, frequently looking at new processes and new tools that I can use to improve our capabilities and enhance the video content I create.

After joining Star Wars: Hunters project in November 2020, I was promoted to Senior Capture Artist and Video Editor in September 2022.
